“…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints…” Ephesians 6:18

“The Bible enjoins us to “pray without ceasing” (1Th 5:17) and to pray on all occasions with all kinds of prayers (Eph 6: 18). Prayer is the natural, spontaneous, moment-by-moment activity or occupation of true believers. Scripture encourages us to pray not only for our personal, material and spiritual needs (Mt 6:11-13) but more so, for the concerns of God’s kingdom (2 Th 3:1; Heb 13:18), for the salvation of the lost (Ro 10:1), for fellow believers (Jas 5:16), for church leaders (Ro 15:30-31), for the universal Church (Eph 6:18), for all those in authority (1 Ti 2:1-2), for missionaries and workers in the field (2 Co 1:11).

The church encourages not only private prayer but also corporate prayer. Corporate prayer draws the church body into a singleness of heart and mind in worship, consecration, vision and goals. It also helps brethren grow in prayer and in love for one another.
